Our organic mountain farm Samer is the ideal starting point for countless hikes in the Val d’Ega/Eggental. Whether on foot or by bike, a day tour or a leisurely hike: from our farm you can easily reach many popular destinations in the hiking area Nova Levante-Carezza/Welschnofen-Karersee.
The Nova Levante cable car takes you from the village centre (5 km from our farm) to the foot of the Catinaccio/Rosengarten.
The Val d’Ega/Eggental offers 570 km of varied hiking trails, fixed rope routes, bike trails and a bike park.
A must-see is the beautiful Lake Carezza/Karersee. A circular walk of about 20 minutes leads around the world-famous, emerald-green mountain lake at the foot of the Latemar. Lake Carezza/Karersee is only a 15-minute drive from the Samerhof.
Orrery and observatory in Gummer/San Valentino
Culture for all
Astronomy lovers can visit the neighbouring village of San Valentino/Gummer, where there is a planetarium, an observatory, a solar observatory and a planetary circular path. The only observatory in South Tyrol, the solar observatory and the planetary trail, which allows you to walk from Mercury to Pluto in just a few hours, are within walking distance from our farm. The planetarium is only a 10-minute drive from the Samerhof.
Sunrise and sunset in the mountains
After your hike or day trip, a little something special awaits you on our farm. Due to the unique location of our farm you can enjoy two natural spectacles with an incomparable atmosphere: sunrise and sunset. Find a cosy place, listen to the crickets chirping and let the summer day end with a stunning sunset.
